before you sign up.
This edition covers 218 distinct AI services with a documented way to start at no cost. It includes model providers, free hosted interfaces, and AI applications across eight categories.
What “free” means here
Free plan
An ongoing $0 tier with recurring quotas or feature restrictions. It does not mean every feature or model is free.
Free access
A service offers usable access without a paid plan. Capacity, region, account, or fair-use restrictions may still apply.
Public demo
A hosted experiment or playground that can be used for free. Queues, sleeping spaces, or unavailable compute can interrupt access.
Free credits
A finite introductory allowance or one-time credit grant. Unless the listing explicitly says otherwise, it does not renew.
How entries were selected
- Find a distinct service offering usable free AI access, including the original model providers Qwen and DeepSeek.
- Check official product, pricing, help, or documentation pages. Prefer current pricing to older promotional articles when the terms conflict.
- Write a practical description and record sign-up needs, free allowances, restrictions, and relevant model families.
- Link the evidence in each listing. Avoid fixed quotas when the provider does not publish a reliable number.
- Exclude paid-only services, payment-required trials, and free accounts that cannot actually use AI. One-time free credits are included with a separate label.
How to choose
Start with a task, then inspect the free-access details. For chat, look at account and region requirements. For images, video, and music, check watermarks, public generations, download limits, and commercial rights. For research, inspect original citations. For coding, distinguish a browser playground from an installed editor and API billing.
“Start without an account” includes listings marked Not required or Optional; some advanced features can still require sign-in. Model names refer to documented families, not a promise that every current variant is available to a free account.
Scope and limitations
This directory is not a model leaderboard. Editorial order groups useful starting points; it is not a quality score or endorsement. Offers can vary by country, demand, age, login method, and account. Source checks cannot establish each visitor’s eligibility. Provider pages are the final authority.
Some provider pages use bot protection, region restrictions, or sign-in gates. A documentation review cannot guarantee that every visitor will be able to access every feature.
Free web access does not imply free API access, open-source licensing, unrestricted commercial rights, or private processing. Review a provider’s own terms before uploading sensitive information or distributing generated work.

This is an independent directory. Product logos identify their owners and do not imply a partnership. Favicons are stored with the site. Search and filters run in your browser; there is no account system. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure visits and page performance without analytics cookies. Google Fonts and the hosting provider may receive standard request data.
